Meet Your Instructors!

Warren Benson

Chief Instructor Pilot - CFI/CFII/MEI

Warren was lucky enough to have a neighbor take him flying at the age of 15, and to continue his flying career now for nearly 50 years. With a grocery store job he was able to afford training for a private pilot license at age 16. Warren has flown everything from Piper Aerostars, SW-4 Metroliners, DC-9s, and eventually flew MD-80s at Muse Air which was bought by Southwest Airlines. Warren retired after 20 years at SWA, but the calling of aviation came back with instructing and flying charters. Warren has been with Flying Tigers since 2010, and became Chief Instructor in 2015. Warren flies a Learjet 60XR in a part 135 charter operation for American Jet International at Hobby.

Wes Cauley

Wes joined us in April of 2020. He’s from the Baytown area and attended Texas A&M University in College Station ,where he also received his private pilot’s license. After graduating in 2018, he moved to Denver to pursue his commercial pilot training. When Wes isn’t flying, he enjoys hanging around his family and friends, spending time outside, and hunting and fishing. Wes’ goal is to become an airline pilot.

Dillon Dudley

Check Airman/CFI/CFII

Dillon started pursuing aviation in Central Texas after realizing that he wanted more out of life. After taking 13 months to earn a private pilot's license, he moved to Florida and earned Instrument, Commercial, CFI, and CFII in only 11 months!

Addison "Addi" Hemphill

Addi is has been with us since December of 2019. Even though she comes from small town Anahuac, she's done most of her flight training here in the "big city" of Houston! When she’s not instructing, Addi also flies corporate part time throughout the Houston area. Her career goals include flying corporate aircraft full time and continuing her already successful teaching career.

Jay Heth

Check Airman/CFI/CFII

Jay has been flying for more than 30 years. He began flying as a hobby, but quickly discovered he was able to effectively manage construction projects across the United States by flying to job sites when the opportunity allowed. Jay decided to share his love of flying with others and completed CFI, CFII, AGI and IGI certifications. Jay enjoys teaching safe “old school" and "new school” technologies to students seeking to complete private, commercial and instrument ratings. In his time away from the airport he enjoys outdoor activities that include snow skiing, scuba diving and biking.

Jonathan Johnson

Flying has been Johnathan's lifelong passion. He made his first flight as a junior at Sterling High School for Aeronautics, eventually attending the San Jacinto school for Aviation, earning all of his ratings from private all the way to multi engine flight instructor. There are two great joys Johnathan has as an instructor: sharing the joy of a student’s first solo, the excitement when a student passes their check ride.

Caroline Ryan

Caroline grew up in Houston, TX and attended Rhodes College in Memphis, TN.  After receiving a B.A. in psychology in 2017, she pursued a career in sports psychology before deciding to become a pilot. Her grandfather taught her how to fly in the summer of 2018, and she earned her Private Pilot License in Ann Arbor, Michigan that same summer. Caroline earned her Instrument, Commercial, and CFI certificates in Vero Beach, FL.  Caroline is very excited to be instructing in her hometown!

Loren Gogins

Loren has rejoined us in the summer of 2020! Even though he was born and raised in Chicago, Loren has been fortunate to call Houston home for over 5 years. Loren has spent time as a 737 Ground Instructor, and has been a CFI/CFII since 2017.
